SoundMind Institute is a Psychedelic Training Program aimed at educating and supporting psychedelic facilitators from all backgrounds and identities. We have home-bases in Philadelphia and Oregon, and we were one of the first programs to gain acceptance through OHA and HECC to train psychedelic facilitators through the Oregon Psilocybin Program.
We aim to foster the growth of the most exceptionally trained, ethical, and insightful facilitators in the psychedelic ecosystem. We achieve this through our unique approach to training facilitators in a diverse range of modalities - including but not limited to psychodynamic therapy, ceremonial plant medicine, and somatic approaches to healing.
We operate hands-on training retreats with ketamine and psilocybin in Jamaica, Oregon, and Philadelphia. We are women-led and prioritize accessibility and inclusion in all of our work.
SoundMind Center is a completely legal psychedelic-assisted therapy center currently operating in Philadelphia, using ketamine for psychedelic-assisted journeys. SoundMind Center employs the principles taught by SoundMind Institute.

Our main program is the Psychedelic Facilitator Training Program- it is a facilitator training and research initiative aimed at bringing ethics, equity, and innovation to the psychedelic ecosystem.
This is a 12-month training program for clinicians and other professionals that provides a foundational understanding of the literature and practice of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, including the use of ketamine, MDMA, and psilocybin in therapeutic settings. This program is designed for clinicians—especially psychotherapists, physicians, and others, but being a clinician is not a requirement for acceptance.
Additionally, we also offer an end-of-life psychedelics initiative and a plant medicine experiential course. -
The psychedelic facilitator training program runs once a year. The 2024 Summer curriculum starts in April and the core curriculum starts in September.
Classes are held on Tuesdays 4-6 PM PT / 7-9 PM EST, with the option of taking the course asynchronously if this time does not work for you. Please note that those seeking Oregon certification to provide psilocybin must attend the core classes live.
-
We offer a range of scholarships for providers with financial need who are BIPOC, Neurodiverse, and/or LGBTQIA+. The in-person experiential is $4000-$6000, depending on which options is chosen.
-
We have a number of inclusion initiatives ranging from Trans-Affirming Care, the Solidarity Series, Animation for Acess, as well as the BIPOC Psychedelic Leadership Program.
All our initiatives loop back to our core value of supporting psychedelic facilitators from all backgrounds and identities.

Oregon Health Authority has approved our curriculum to train facilitators in the Oregon Psilocybin Model. After this was approved, all programs and individuals involved with measure 109 learned programs would also need to be approved by a secondary branch of the Oregon Government, called HECC (the Higher Education Coordinating Committee). We received HECC approval to operate as a private career school in Oregon in October 2022.

You can donate directly at www.soundmind.center/donate. Your contribution goes to aiding the veterans peer support project, sponsor training, sponsor therapy, and creating public education about psychedelic medicine.

We pride ourselves in creating courses and trainings that have equity, social justice, and ethics as a centerpiece of all conversations. These therapies need to be made available to the most marginalized among us, and we need to start the conversation and any trainings there.
We operate a Psychedelic Center in urban Philadelphia creating inclusive and innovative psychedelic protocols for populations in need, and your participation in our courses and trainings directly benefits our nonprofit.
Many other trainings you find online are for-profit and not community driven - having investors mean they have to prioritize profit with huge classes, fewer access to live speakers, and less individualized mentorship. Profit is not our motive, and we are excited to include you in the psychedelic revolution that starts with our communities and inclusivity.
