Happy Holidays from SoundMind 🎉

Wow this has been such an interesting year in psychedelics, and as always, SoundMind is helping to lead the way in these new frontiers. As the only psychedelic training program that has an affiliated psychedelic medical clinic, we are continue to collect data, hone our protocols, and contribute to legalization initiatives in different states in the US as well as offering treatment options abroad.

We work directly with ketamine (Philadelphia and NY), psilocybin (Colorado and Jamaica), and Huachuma (Peru), to round out a diverse understanding of different psychedelic treatment modalities and how they interact with medical diagnoses. We have many arms of our initiative — including our nonprofit, our training program, our clinical offerings, and our retreats offerings.

SoundMind Training: Going Strong

We are currently celebrating our tenth cohort of psychedelic facilitator training (!!) Having begun enrollment for our training programs in 2018, we are proud to continue trailblazing in the psychedelic space. This year, we're approved to train psilocybin facilitators in Colorado, as well as offering training that spans ceremonial to medical practice. We include training in ketamine, psilocybin and MDMA. This year, we have included modules on 5-MeO-DMT and Ibogaine as well.

We consider ourselves one of the most well-rounded training programs available, and so proud to offer acceptance to therapists, physicians, and other professionals. We train to work in state-level initiatives, federal-level options, as well as global careers in legal psychedelic facilitation.

SoundMind Project: Our Nonprofit

Our nonprofit began 16 years ago to address global health and access to plant medicines. Founded in Jamaica in 2010, we work to provide access to integrative and plant-based medicine for people in need, while also preserving and conserving these medicines for future generations. In 2014, we became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the United States, enabling tax-deductible donations, and established our headquarters in Philadelphia.

This year, we launched the Huachuma Conservation Fund to support our colleagues and initiatives in Peru and to expand access to this powerful medicine. We hold a strong commitment to addressing climate change and continue to support global access through your generous donations.

SoundMind Center: Our Clinic

On the treatment side, we are expanding our ketamine-assisted therapy offerings in New York and Philadelphia and continue to provide one of the most hands-on, therapy-oriented models available. We also offer in-depth, psychedelically informed psychotherapy. Our work has been featured in Al Jazeera, The New York Times, Forbes, and The Today Show for innovations in psychedelic care—and we continue to help shape the future of this field every day.

Cadence Retreats: International Offerings

Our retreat arm, Cadence Retreats, has hosted offerings in Jamaica, Costa Rica, Peru, Oregon, and Philadelphia. We have provided immersive experiences with ketamine, psilocybin, and Huachuma, specializing in bridging ceremonial practice with the medical model while navigating complex clinical conditions. This year, we will continue expanding our offerings with a focus on Peru and growing our team there. If you’re interested, join our waitlist below.

How do we have the energy for all of these initiatives, you ask? Well—we are run by a majority neurodiverse-identified team, which adds both excitement and enhanced enthusiasm (ha!). No small feat, but we are thriving and growing, with many projects on the horizon.

We are also women-led, independently financed, and deeply committed to pioneering access and inclusion. Remaining independently financed has been a deliberate choice—and not always an easy one—but it allows us to operate in ways that feel most ethical and aligned. This is why your support means so much to us.

Thank you for your incredible support, and we’re sending so much love as we move into this holiday season 🎄

With much gratitude,
Dr. Hannah and the SoundMind Team
